The farmhouse has a failing foundation.

After contacting an engineer he referred me to a building contractor who specializes in building and designing custom homes .

Last Thursday the contractor came to look at the house his best advice was to knock the house down pour a slab and have a modular home assembled.  His verbal estimate was 70-90 thousand just for the repair of the foundation. Yikes! Since the goal is to restore the home his advice was ruled out as an option.

Today, daughters Jaime and Erika met with a house raising and moving contractor. The plan is to raise the two story, 1,646 sq. ft., T-shaped house six inches and have a mason lay new footers and walls, knock out the old walls and lower the home plum and square ~ Whoala! The bid will be mailed next week - cant wait to see what the cost  is...
